The Hope, an innovative Christian teaching film using live storytellers has passed censorship in Vietnam, by MUSICGROUP , a Vietnamese entertainment company in Ho Chi Minh City
“We have been working on the Vietnamese version for over a year and it is gratifying that it is finally done and approved by the government officials,” commented Le Anh Dong, the director of Musicgroup Co, Ltd in Ho Chi Minh City. The production started with a careful written translation and back translation done in HCMC. After the back translation to English was complete a number of revisions were made to ensure that the main thoughts were communicated effectively in a culturally relevant way.
After the back translation was complete and approved by Mars-Hill Productions in Texas, the storytellers were carefully selected to represent a broad cross sample of the Vietnamese people. These storytellers also represented the young with singer Nguyen Hoang Nam and model and singer Phuong Trinh. The older generation was represented on the film by Vu Thj Binh Ding and MS. Phan Vinh Cu.
Music Group will release Nguon Hy Vong (THE HOPE) nationwide in late November. Current plans are to offer the HOPE at the 4 major Christian events in December. Dec 12, 17&18th in Ho Chi Minh City (government approval has been delayed – a matter of prayer), the 19th in Nam Dinh City and the 26th in Tuy Hoa City. These last two events have been approved by the government.
The VN Hope will be distributed through the church networks in country at an affordable price.
